24 Aug Simple Lemon Myrtle Ginger Tea with Jarrah Honey
Here is a delicious and simple homemade Lemon Myrtle Ginger tea recipe with powerful medicinal properties as a bonus!
The natural antibacterial, antiviral and anti inflammatory properties of lemon myrtle oil helps to boost the immune system and kill nasty germs while the added ginger aids in digestion, reduces nausea and also helps fight colds and flu. The combination in this tea may also aid in the relief of headaches and fever.
I like to add Active Jarrah honey as a sweetener in this tea to add extra antimicrobial / antibacterial action. Active Jarrah honey is from Western Australia and because of it’s amazing properties we have added it as an ingredient to Rainforest Remedies Lemon Myrtle Skin Cream.
Note: Please use caution when using pure essential oils. I do not recommend using any essential oils in the first trimester of pregnancy. Do not ingest pure lemon myrtle essential oils undiluted and keep dilution to a ratio of 1:100. All pure essential oils should be kept out of reach of children.
Makes 2 cups
500ml filtered water
2 cm square piece of fresh ginger root (grated)
4 – 5 drops Pure Lemon Myrtle oil
Organic honey to taste ( I use Active Jarrah Honey)
Heat all ingredients (except for the honey) in a saucepan and stir until boiling. Use a sieve to strain into cups and add honey to taste. It’s that simple!
